How It Works

Greater Houston is home to hundreds of thousands of young children and families. Over 330,000 children under the age of 5 in Harris County alone. Reaching them requires the community.

That's why we work through organizations families already know and trust to bring age-appropriate books every month to families at no cost to them.

How the Program Works

Our program is supported by the national Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which provides books each month for children from birth to age 5.

Through our Trusted Family Touchpoints, including libraries, healthcare providers, and childcare programs, we reach families who may have limited access to parenting resources and literacy support.

Imagination Library of Greater Houston is available to all children under the age of 5 who reside in our "adopted" zip codes:  77025, 77054, 77074 and 77081 as well as children that we enroll manually in collaboration with the Trusted Family Touchpoints.
